About This Item

Boston, MA: Little, Brown, and Company. Very Good-. 1917. Hardcover. B&W Illustrations; 1917 printing. This book is in Very Good- condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in noticeably well used. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have rubbing, wear and bumping. There are spots of ground-in dirt (a couple of them green and red crayon). The front inner hinge has been repaired, but the hinge could use a more comprehensive repair. The text pages are generally clean and bright, though there are spots of foxing, along with a couple of small annotations by a fomer owner. The blank pages at the beginning and end have inked and penciled recipes from a former owner, and also laid-in and pasted in recipes from magazines and newspapers. "The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book (1896) by Fannie Farmer is a 19th-century general reference cookbook which is still available both in reprint and in updated form. It was particularly notable for a more rigorous approach to recipe writing than had been common up to that point." (from Wikipedia) .
