About This Item
Watson examines the case of Francis Stewart, fifth earl of Bothwell, cousin to King James VI and godson of Mary Queen of Scots. He was the accused in the most notorious case of witchcraft in Scotland. Was he actually the Devil incarnate as the case against him claimed, or was the case an attempt by James to frame a man whom he regarded as a threat to his throne?
Book is in excellent condition. Pages are intact, clean, unmarked and uncreased. There is a single corner in the first (blank) page neatly cut diagonally for some reason, possibly to hide a previous signature (see photos). Cloth covers are clean and tight. The dust jacket is unclipped, and in a very good state. Hardly any wear. Now covered in professional removable clear book cover. 205 pp including bibliography, index and B&W illustrations
