Jacket in a new protective sleeve, not price clipped This is perhaps the only Biggles book that cannot with total certainty have its 1st edition identified. However these points are offered as indicating that this copy is in probability a True 1st edition. 1.Pre 1968 Dean & Son hid the publishing date under the front pastedown. This book simply has "Boy Biggles Pastedown" on the pasted down side in keeping with Dean & Son books circa 1968-69 2. The Dustjacket does not have a price in New pence on the front flap (Introduced in 1970) 3. There is no ISBN number just an SBN. (ISBN also introduced at around the same time :1970). 4. Green boards, all copies I have found in 23 years of business have had green boards.(But not all green board copies are 1sts) The laminated editions sometimes offered as "1st editions" are all reprints from the 1970s and later. This copy has a jacket with corner wear and creasing and a tiny loss to the head of the spine. Now placed in a protective loose sleeve. 1st book in chronological order of the entire Biggles canon.
