The textblock is starting to pull away from the covers at the top, though the bottom half of the textblock is firmly attached. A little foxing to the title page, a very little amount scattered throughout. No marking or writing, no soiling. 186pp. with a list of the International Scientific Series, and four pages of advertisements, many illustrations. This title is uncommon, especially in first edition, but the most noteworthy point about it is that it's a science book written by a woman in 1875 and also illustrated by a woman.
