Each book is a hardcover first edition, first printing. Brasyl was published in 2007 by Pyr Books and Tendeleo's Story was published as Limited Edition in 1998 by UK specialty publisher PS Publishing in 2000 and are the true first editions. ISBN numbers are 9781591025436 and 1902880137 respectively. Brasyl is signed by McDonald and inscribed "Worldcon 2011" on the title page. This was at the 69th Worldcon held in Reno, Nevada. A nice associational copy. Brasyl: All first printing points are present: number sequence 11 thru 07 in reverse order with the "07" present (indicating a 2007 printing) followed by the number sequence 5 thru 1 in reverse order with the "1" present, indicating a first printing. Award History: 2007 British Science Fiction Award Winner; 2008 Hugo Award Nominee (lost to The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon); 2008 Locus Poll Award Nominee (lost to The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon) Tendeleo's Story is a Limited edition, No. 74 of 300 signed/numbered copies. Signed by McDonald and the Introducer Robert Silverberg on the limitation page. None of the books are book clubs, remainders or ex-library copies. Brasyl shows some light bumping at head and heel of spine panel with associated crinkling, else fine (unread) copy in fine jacket. Tendeleo's Story shows a light bump at the bottom edge of spine, else each book is a fine (unread) copy in fine condition. Synopsis
Ian McDonald is the author of Planesrunner, Be My Enemy , and Empress of the Sun , in the Everness series. He has written thirteen science fiction novels--including the 2011 John W. Campbell Memorial Award winner for Best Novel, The Dervish House --as well as Brasyl, River of Gods, Cyberabad Days, Ares Express, Desolation Road, King of Morning, Queen of Day, Out on Blue Six, Chaga , and Kirinya . He's been nominated for every major science fiction award, and even won some. McDonald also works in television and in program development--all those reality shows have to come from somewhere--and has written for screen as well as print. He lives in Northern Ireland, just outside Belfast, and loves to travel.
