New York: John Day Company, 1934. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Signed by Wurdemann! First edition, 1934, hardcover with green cloth boards in dust jacket, octavo, 76pp., not illustrated. Book near fine with cloth mildly strained at spine ends and corners, binding tight, previous owner's plate to front flyleaf, otherwise text clean and unmarked, rear endpapers off-set. DJ VG with toning to spine and panels, mild edgewear that includes some small tears and creases, rubbing, looking handsome in protective mylar wrap. Bright Ambush won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1935, when Wurdemann was only 24 years old, making her the youngest recipient of the award.
Synopsis
Bright Ambush is a book of poems written by Audrey Wurdemann in 1934. In May, 1935 Wurdemann won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for the book. She was the youngest person to win the prize for poetry.
