About This Item

London: Alvin Redman. Fine in Good+ dust jacket. 1966. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Cream cloth bound boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket, which is not price-clipped. The d/j is complete but there is some edge-wear, chipping, rubbing and small closed tears to the dustjacket extremities, which are neatly repaired to the inside with clear archive tape. There are NO inscriptions or other marks. 326 pp. Illustrated with b/w plates and map endpapers. Three Appendices; Index. Overall, apart from the 'faults' to the dustjacket, as detailed above, this is a Clean, Tight and Secure,' Very Good' copy. "In this interesting book Captain Pack has captured the atmosphere of life on the Britannia and the spirit that has lived on. The book is greatly enlivened by personal anecdotes from old boys. It is hoped that all whose heart is in the navy will derive pleasure and inspiration from its splendid record of events and of those who served in Britannia." ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
