London: E W Janson. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Brown cloth boards with black lettering and lines to front, and gilt lettering to spine. Edges are bumped. Slight markings to boards. Internally the bindingis beginning to crack but is generally sound. Undated but signature - Eleanor - on flyleaf is dated 1890.Two items of memorabilia, recording findings of birds, are also dated 1890. Pages are age tanned with occasional foxing. Illustrated by A G Butler with meticulous chromo-lithographic reproductions. A charming introduction by the author records his obsession with finding and recording birds' eggs. A good copy of this rare book.
