Early ink ownership names to front free endpaper and reverse of frontispiece, binders ticket to rear pastedown, endpapers stained by turn-ins, small light marginal stain to frontispiece well clear of image, a very clean attractive copy of this uncommon history.

Petrie, who ran unsuccessfully against John Bristow for a seat in the House of Commons from the Borough of Cricklade, discovered that the winner purchased votes, and took Bristow to court.
