New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1958. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good +/Very good. 254pp. Octavo [21 cm] 1/2 salmon-colored cloth with brown patterned paper over boards, a brown ink stamped title on the spine, and a small vignette in brown on the front cover. Bumped at the foot of the spine. In the dust jacket, with light rubbing and chipping to the extremities, and subtle fading to the spine (title still very bold). An attractive first edition of William Eastlake's The Bronc People, a novel of New Mexico. Eastlake was particularly known for his writings on the American West, such as Go in Beauty, Portrait of an Artist with Twenty-Six Horses, and Dancers in the Scalp House.
