Novel concerning many generations of a fictitious English family; notable for Rex Whistler's interesting title page design. Boldly signed and inscribed by Dane in blue ink on front free endpaper: '... from Clemence Dane ... with good wishes, Xmas Eve 1934'. Slight stains, warping and rubbing to covers (chiefly to lower cover); previous owner's bookplate on front attached endpaper and ink name at head of front free endpaper; slight internal browning (chiefly to edges and endpapers).Whistler, Rex (illustrator); 1 b/w Illustration (decorative title page).
