Bookstamp of bookseller Paul Elder & Co. applied on lower left corner of inside back cover. Illustrations: Frontispiece image of Walt Whitman, ten additional images/photographs of buildings and paintings. Printed on thick paper stock. Mumford (1895-1990) was an American historian, sociologist and literary critic. His sixth book, a beautiful copy of this scarce first edition.
