Number 17 in The Buddy Series. 12mo; 209pp; black-stamped red pebbled boards, vignette pictorial to front; patterned endpapers with a printed bookplate (not used); b&w frontispiece; paper age-toned; unclipped color pictorial dust jacket, front flap lists books through number 20. Buddy and the G-Man Mystery; creasing and light chipping to edges, 2 closed tears to rear, light soiling to rear; near fine in very good dj. Not to be confused with the Buddy Books for Boys published by Grosset & Dunlap, The Buddy Series was a 1930s series of 21 books for young boy readers, from 6-10 years of age. The front flap states, "You will more than like BUDDY with his carefree ways, his cheerful smile, his boundless enthusiasm and his overflowing youth. BUDDY is certain to linger in your memory long after you have finished these stories.".
