Colour illustrated paperback binding with red and yellow coloured titles to the front panel and orange and black coloured titles to the back strip. Photograph of author to the rear book panel. Maritime pulp fiction from World War II. The story of Chief Petty-Officer 'Hooky' Walker – loyal but flawed man. Creasing to the book corners with a vertical crease the full length of the front panel, closest to the back strip. Rubbing of the book edges and panels with browning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. Previous owner's marginalia to the top edge of the verso of the front panel. The number 52 has been placed, in a black coloured marker, to the top right hand corner of the front panel and the number in 11 on the back strip.
