About This Item
Country Life Books, London, 1947. Revised and Enlarged Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. Illustrator: Photographic and Diagrammatic. 400 g; XII, 164 pages, index, illustrated with 46 line drawings, and 60 black-and-white plates, photographic illustrated dust jacket. Slight dustiness to the top edge of the text block, minor bump into the lower corners of the boards, offset tape marks on the end pages from the now removed protective plastic wrapper applied by a previous owner. The dust jacket is very crudely price clipped missing approximately the lower third of the fold over flap, and is rubbed and chipped, with several splits and some creasing mainly to the top edge. "Rammed earth alone provides a traditional building material that is unrestricted and uncontrolled. (Printed just after the war I guess they were referring to rationing). The standard work on its various forms and uses, including building in chalk, was originally published in 1919 in circumstances identical to those of today. This new edition has been revised and enlarged and brought up to date to include such new developments as cement and stabilised Earth, and it reviews the satisfactory performance of buildings constructed 25 years ago" -- front fold over. . Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Photographic and Diagrammatic. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Architecture; Craft; Technical; Inventory No: 0216027. .
