"A Convenient Manual of Reference on Building Construction Including: Structural Design, Masonry, Bricklaying, Carpentry, Joinery, Roofing, Plastering, Painting, Plumbing, Lighting, Heating and Ventilation. This handbook is intended for the use of all persons connected with The Building Trades, and contains many features not found in similar publications. Condition: First published in 1899, this 1905 Second Edition, has hardbound dark brown boards with the title of the book debossed into the top cover. Book title is in gold gilt on the spine, with five thin embossed bands. The boards and spine have almost no wear but the front cover has numerous cosmetic stains and the rear board has a large area where the cloth is damaged causing the rear board to have a warp. Corners all have a bit of wear and bumping. The spine is straight and firmly attached to hinges, with no cracking to the decorative endpapers. Text block has red edges on all three sides and is solid with all pages firmly attached. Age tanning throughout. There is an approximate 1" tear at the top of the preface page but otherwise interior pages are clean with no tears, cracks, or previous owner marks. 372 text pages, four blank lined pages, and sixteen pages of testimonials.
