Black and white marks overall. Textblock is shaky. Book has a visible forward lean.

London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1935. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR IN THE YEAR OF PUBLICATION. Publisher's blue cloth with black lettering to the front board and spine. Some darkening to the spine, some foxing to the early/late pages of the book overall a VG copy. The D/W is priced 7/6 net to the spine (as called for). The D/W has had professional restoration to the spine ends, corners, and extremities and shows as a VG example. with the publisher's name to the spine faded to yellow from red. Inscribed by the Author on the half-title: "To/ Michael & Janet/ from/ H.C. McNeile/ 'Sapper'/ Feb. '35". The basis for cthe 1937 movie of the same name and directed by Norman Lee and starring John Lodge, Dorothy Mackaill and Claud Allister. Photographs/scans available upon request.
