Life and work of Art Nouveau master Edward Burne-Jones, protege of Rossetti and intimate friend and collaborator of William Morris. In describing his own work, Burne-Jones once explained, "I mean by a picture a beautiful romantic dream of something that never was, that never will be, in a light better than any light that ever shone, set in a land no one can ever describe or remember, only desire, with the forms divinely beautiful." Illustrated with eight beautiful color plates of the artist’s paintings. No p.d., circa 1910. An entry in the Masterpieces In Colour series. Very Good, clean, crisp, bright, corners sharp, binding tight, sound, and square, all plates brilliant. No dust jacket.
