Macmillan, 10-01-1910. First Edition. Hardcover. Acceptable. First Edition but not first state. Three blank leaves at rear. Sits relatively square but slightly cocked. Hinges and spine cracking throughout.The three blank leaves and one of the advertisement pages heavily damp stained. Some noticeable staining towards upper outer corner of pages throughout. Some old book/smoke/damp smell. Not going to lie, a bit of a train wreck, but because its London did not want to abandon it outright. Priced to sell.
Synopsis
Partially based upon the life of Oakland entrepreneur "Borax" Smith, Burning Daylight was Jack London's best selling book during his lifetime. The novel is set in the Yukon Territory in 1893, telling the story of an adventurer, nicknamed “Burning Daylight,” who went to Alaska and laid the foundations of his fortune before the gold hunters arrived. Burning Daylight was adapted for American films in 1914, 1920, 1928, and 2010.
