London: Faber & Faber, 1963. 1st. hardback. Near fine, 1st edition, unclipped d/j (good, a little sunning and splitting at spine); maroon cloth boards, gilt spine titling bright; text block firm, pages unmarked. Endpapers clean.. 8vo (230 x 150 / 9"" x 6""). This was MacNeice's final collection of poems, published just a few days after his funeral (he was buried in Carrowdore, in County Down, with his mother). Auden, who gave a reading at MacNeice's memorial service, described the poems of his last two years as ""among his very best""
