Ambassador to Egypt and author John Stothoff Badeau, his tasteful bookplate is present on the front end-paper, the author has inscribed, signed and dated this copy on the same page: "For the Honorable Dr. John S. Badeau with sincere regards and best wishes - Nina Jidejian - 1/26/70." "This volume, based on a careful examination of the archaeological evidence and a constant appeal to ancient texts, tells the story of ancient and classical Byblos - for scholar and layman alike," illustrated throughout, book is clean, binding is tight and square, contents are fine, there is some faint tan spotting on the top edge of the cloth, the jacket has several short edge-tears and a 1-inch rectangular edge-chip at the top of the rear panel, the jacket remains presentable, clean and bright, with a professional (removable) mylar cover included; Signed by Author .
