New York. Boke Press, 1964. Mimeographed sheets bound in imprinted stapled wrappers. Folio. 8.5" x 14". First Issue. Illustrated throoughout with cartoons by famed underground artist Joe Brainard. The C Comics series in which Brainard drew the panels and asked other writers to fill in the dialogue formed both an homage and a reinterpretation of the comic strip form. Contributors included John Ashbery, Bill Berkson, Ted Berrigan, Dick Gallup, Barbara Guest, Kenneth Koch, Frank Lima, Jimmy Schuyler, Frank O"Hara,Kenward Elmslie,Peter Schjeldahl,Tony Towle, Ron Padgett and many other notables of the early 60's New York School of Poetry. Only two issues of this magazine were published with this copy being the First Issue which appeared in 1964. Covers mildly worn and soiled. Usual chipping to edges. Front cover loosened by one staple punched through. A crisp copy.
