Good +. 12mo. 2 blanks, (23), 561pp., plus index, engraved title. 5 full page woodcut illustrations, 3 engraved folding maps, one medallion woodcut portrait. Woodcut head and tail pieces. Full red morocco. Spine with 6 compartments and 5 bands. Compartments with gilt decorations and lettering to spine in gilt. Hinges weak and cracked, boards still very firmly attached by cords. Crack line running vertically along spine, text block remains tight and square. Boards with wear to edges, leather rubbed and worn at hinges and edges. Boards bowed. All edges gilt. Irregular pagination with pages 149, 335, 475 misnumbered as 153, 345 and 375. Text clean and bright. Maps very clean and in fine condition. A rather good copy in a well worn binding.
