About This Item

USA: Garden City Publishing, 1944. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7?" - 9?" tall. Type: Hardback Hardcover Book in Very Good Condition with a Good Vintage Dust Jacket. Archival protective jacket cover. A delightful book. It's 1942, and a number of young American boys--Yanks-- headed to Australia. This is one of the first testimonies of what happened to the average American boy who went "Down Under"--a look at Australian life through the eyes of American soldiers. Brown cloth with illustration of soldiers on a bus on front. Illustrated with Thurber-like cartoons. Two spots on the front cover, slight cover edgewear, bumped lower corners, tight and solid. Page xi, 1 & 2 have smudgy marks, otherwise internals are clean and unmarked. DJ has small tears along edges, is clean and unmarked. A delightful book. 194 pages. 6 x 8" inches. 1944, Garden City Publishing, USA
