Pregevole edizione del Maggio 1519, variante B, curato dall'umanista bolognese Giovanni Battista Pio (ca 1470-1540) del poema epico "Argonautica" composto dal poeta latino Valerio Flacco nato a Sezze e morto intorno al 92 (Cfr. EDIT16 web). L'"editio princeps" di Valerio Flacco fu pubblicata a Bologna nel 1474, ma G.B. Pio trovò nuovi codici e ripubblicò il testo con gli ultimi due canti che mancavano e con l'aggiunta dell'Argonautica di Apollonio Rodio, utilizzata per integrare e condurre a conclusione la narrazione di Valerio Flacco che si interrompeva all'ottavo libro. Caratteri romani con commento in cornice in latino e greco. Dati editoriali indicati alla carta 2i2r. Insieme al volume un antico foglio con note manoscritte. "On fait grand cas de cette édition, qui est belle et fort rare". Graesse, VII/241: "Nouvelle récension du texte sur de bons mss., probablement sur un manuscrit de Matthias Corvinus. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture e bruniture marginali. Frontespizio e prime quattro carte presentano mancanze con perdita di testo (le pagine rovinate sono state intervallate da fogli bianchi). Eccessiva rifilatura al margine superiore di pag.
