Fitchburg, Mass.: J.C. Moulton, Photographer, ca. 1870s. 3¼ x 6¾ inches. Card stock mount; imprint on label on verso. Very good.
Stereoview photograph by pioneering Fitchburg, Massachusetts photographer Joseph C. Moulton who established his photography business in Worcester County in 1851. The image depicts the stone and frame building constructed at the summit of Mount Wachusett, the highest point in eastern Massachusetts. The image depicts a large group of mostly women and children on the porch or in the yard.
