Black cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to spine (hint of tiny rub at base of spine). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (very slightly indented along upper edge in places). A really nice, clean volume. Ranging widely over science, art and cultural history, Mabey puts plants centre stage and reveals a botanical caberet, a world of tricksters as well as an enthralled audience of romantics.
