Otherwise a crisp copy with the photos and frontis in fine, bright condition. Front hinge starting. Jacket with 1/8" chips to head and tail of spine and some creasing to the strong craft- quality paper that the original jacket is printed on. The cover and jacket illustration is unsigned and depicts a charming forest scene in which a young man axes his way through a sizeable log as smoke curles from the cabin's chimney. Chapters on Trout, The Ethical code and 'California John'. Much on the Sierras, the Mono Divide and big country of The California Crest Trail. Amer. 1sts, Baird/Greenwood, dj., fiction, literature, moutains, camping, hiking. Stewart Edward White was a widely read and well traveled California author. American 1sts, Cowan. (Some of White's early books are interesting in that none remain in jackets of some titles and others are present in jacket and are today available. His First book, Claim Jumpers is available in wrappers and cloth. The Westerners is in a jacket but no example of the jacket is known for The Blazed Trail, Blazed Trail Stories, Camp and Trail or some of the Africa books; like African Camp Fires and Simba.
