Bolton and Manchester: W. Currey, 1877. Photographic cabinet card of Gladstone at his estate resting after cutting wood, approximately 110mm x 165mm in size, dated 1877. Minor rubbing to corners, otherwise quite bright and clean, reverse with printed details of W.[illiam] Currey and initialled and dated in ink by someone to head (dated 1878). A more informal portrait of Gladstone at Hawarden, the National Portrait Gallery has the same image but in a slightly smaller format. First Edition. Unbound. Good+. 16mo. Cabinet Card.
