About This Item
London: C Taylor, 1787. Hardcover (Full Leather). Good Condition. This is a collection of individually issued examples of frontipieces reproduced in sepia toned stipple engraving, each with a few pages of the work they represent. Each section is paginated separately. The issues could be collected and bound together and the publishers provided a title page for the collection. Thus, the book can come with various numbers of plates included. This volume has 20 plates. Two of these plates have tears, one is only an inch from the edge and doesn't intrude on the image: the other tear is longer and does cause damage to the image. The interior front hinge has had a competent amateur repair using a strip of matching marbled paper. Category: Poetry; .
