London: Blackie and Son. Hardback. Crown 4to, 10"x7". Four volumes complete: x, 336; vii, 336; vii, 336; viii, 336pp. and all four volumes with a frontis and seven further portraits all with tissue guards. Bound in green cloth beautifully decorated in black and gilt to an Irish theme with Celtic knot work, Irish harps, shamrocks etc, as well decorative titles, all to fronts and spines; the rear boards are decorated in black to the green cloth. Bevelled edges to boards. Gilt to all edges. Each volume is illustrated. Volume four was edited by T. P. O'Connor. Covers Irish literature from Geoffrey Keating (1570-1650) to the late nineteenth century. Lovely bright, clean set, sound, square and tight. Rubbed to spine ends with some tiny tears. A little rubbed to edges. A very few, very tiny spots of white paint. Small black mark to the centre of the front of volume three. Text is clean throughout all four volumes and all portraits and tissue guards are complete. A very attractive set. Very good set . Hardback.
