New York and Chicago: Orange Judd Company, 1905. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Tall quarto. [2], 202 pages, [1]. Illustrated from paintings by Charles Schreyvogel, Edward W. Deming and Henry Fangel. Also illustrated with several photographs. Bound in "Indian smoke tanned buckskin" with title and drawing etched on the front cover. Limited edition of 500 copies this is numbered 16. A former institutional copy with faded numbers on the spine and stamps on the verso of the right front flyleaf, copyright page, bottom of page 202. Many of the illustrations are tipped in with a couple creased, folded at the bottom edge. The title page is toned light brown from contact with the frontispiece tissue guard. This is a novel of the Western frontier and the battle of Little Big Horn with some history added in the Addenda.
