This is the story of Caesar the chocolate labrador and his handler Corporal Ben Fulton who trains Caesar to be a sniffer dog in the Australian Army. They both are sent to Afghanistan where Caesar proves his worth, finding hidden explosives and saving lives. During an ambush, Caesar is separated from Ben who is wounded and evacuated to hospital. Ben is sent home and he and his family search for clues to find out where Caesar is. It is a long road home, and Caesar must face many hardships along the way before this loyal and brave dog is reunited with his family. The rear of the book has some true stories about war dogs. Suggested reading age: Primary school age.
