Calgary, 1895. Booklet. Fair. 38 p. 24 cm. Brown paper covers. Front cover detached and rear cover nearly so. Edges chipped and torn, pencil signature on front. Paper browned. Photo bookplate inside front cover for Herbert Fairbairn Gardiner of Hamilton, Ontario. Text in two columns.
Peel 2178. Calgary sets out ot prove the salubriousness of its climate for consumptives. Includes testimonials from local doctors and former consumptives living in the area. Former owner Gardiner (1849--1924) wrote "Nothing but names: an inquiry into the origin of the names of the counties and townships of Ontario," published in 1899. He was a local newspaper editor in Hamilton, Ontario.
