The Grail Movement, Sydney, 1941. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Fair/No Dust Jacket. 450 g.; (18) 78 pages, last page blank, foreword by the most Reverend Daniel Mannix, Archbishop of Melbourne and list of illustrations. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece, of Judith Bouwman. The text is illustrated with another seven black-and-white photographs within the text. 1/4 red coloured cloth backstrip. 3/4 cream coloured textured board with green and red illustration (showing a Red Cross and green palm leaves behind the cross) to the front panel and green titles underneath the illustration. The book has unfortunately come in contact with moisture and the effects are both external and internal. Externally the bread coloured cloth backstrip has become faded and at the same time as bread the red colour to the cream coloured boards. There is a staying to both the top and bottom front panel edge and top edge of the rear panel showing moisture max. Internally the end papers show bleeding of the backstrip colour and distinctive moisture marks to the top text block edge through to the end of book, the damage/evidence fading as the book progresses. Light browning to the end papers and to the internal text. Bumping to the backstrip edges and to the book corners, underlying board visible at the book corners. Memoirs and tributes by followers of The Grail Movement in Australia to Judith Bouwman, one of the founding members of the movement brought from Holland by the then Bishop of Wagga Wagga.
