About This Item

London: R.A. Everett. London, R.A. Everett, n.d. [1902]. First Edition. First Impression. Paperback. A very good copy. Hales was an Australian war correspondent and here he gathers 25 short recollections. Most notable is a recounting of a speech at the Whitefriars club by Mark Twain and the meeting there between Twain and Winston Churchill. Owner's inscription to the title page, binding is quite well separated at the front hinge, but still holding. A couple of short tears to the leaves. Hales also wrote a Lost Race novel in 1927 called The Glorious Trek. [9566, Hyraxia Books]. n.d. [1902] . Very Good. Paperback. 1st Edition. 1902.
