About This Item
New York and London: Street & Smith, 1902. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo. 246 pages + 6 pages of publisher's advertisements. Hardcover bound in dark green illustrated cloth with lettering in gilt. Covers are moderately worn and rubbed with bumps and fraying to the corners and spine; binding is slightly shaken with a split to the gutter preceding the illustrated frontis. Contents have occasional spotting, and there is some faint damping in the gutter near the center of the book. Illustrated with several full-page woodcut engravings; the first shows a "snapping, snarling wolf" breaking through the roof of a wood cabin. Adventure in the wilds of Maine, complete with wolves, etc.
