The "Canterbury Tales" are a collection of 14th-century tales, originally written in Middle English and rendered into modern English verse in this Heritage Press reprint edition by Frank Ernest Hill. Introduced by Mr. Hill, and with two-page color frontis illustration by Arthur Szyk. Sandglass leaflet laid in (Avon, no. IIR: 39). --- In patterned gold, blue and red paper-covered boards, backed in navy cloth. Titling gilt-stamped on red spine block. Volume housed in slipcase covered in mustard paper. --- With some loss of brightness to spine titling, otherwise a tightly-bound, clean, bright copy. Slipcase with minor soiling; is structurally sound.; Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; xx, 550 pages .
