About This Item

London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown & Green, 1826. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Fifth Edition in Two Volumes. Two volumes rebound in mid C19th beaded blue cloth, with brown leather title labels on spines. Spines lightly sunned, a little foxing, very good. The Canterbury Tales was a joint work by sisters Sophia and Harriet Lee. These two volumes contain only Sophia's stories; and it seems likely that this was the first edition/issue of this selection, the "fifth edition" applying to The Canterbury Tales as a whole..
