About This Item
London: T Nelson and Sons, 1910. No dustwrapper, some bumping to spine ends and corners of red cloth-covered boards, a previous (original?) owner's name inside front board, otherwise a good clean tight copy, with gilt titles on spine still bright, of this little hard-cover book, part of the publisher's ''Nelson's Library'' series which was originally sold at the princely sum of 7d. The story, set in late nineteenth century Italy, involves an Englishman who rents a small villa and then discovers that his landlady is an Anglo-Italian noblewoman with whom he has been secretly in love with for years. No publication date given, but probably c1910. 274pp, b&w frontispiece (by Dudley Tennant).. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
