About This Item
New York: Grosset and Dunlap, 1900 Book. Good. Hardcover. Reprint. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Blue cloth on boards. Lower right corner of dedication page missing. Previous owner's name. No other writing or damage. I found the expression "burned his ships" puzzling until I checked it on Google. The conversation in general is effusive and ornamental. One reviewer described it as "clunky." Apparently the author had converted to Catholicism recently. Perhaps he sought to impress with a too-generous helping of new knowledge. 319 pp..
