About This Item
Williams and Wilkins, Baltimore, 1978 An exceptional copy of the first edition. Fine (flawless except for a previous owner's ink stamp on the front free endpaper). Dark blue cloth-covered boards, gilt spine and front board lettering, 9 1/4 x 6 1/8 inches, 287 pp., index, numerous figures. Scarce first edition, especially in this condition. From the foreword: "Textbooks, unlike novels, rarely develop an 'underground' reputation and then are discovered by prestigious publishing houses. Cariology by Ernest Newbrun is the exception. Many oral biologists, researchers and teachers have been using bits and pieces of the mimeographed version for year (with permission, of course). We're delighted to have this formal, handsome textbook readily available." (1722RO083). 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket.
