Chicago: Bloom (photographer or studio). Original satin finish silver gelatin photograph on double weight fiber paper measuring 10 inches by 8 inches (including borders) depicting magician"Carlyle" fanning a deck of cards. Signed, Inscribed, & dated by Carlyle in 1940. Rubber-stamped on the verso, "Loaned by Carlyle Magician, Original."
Slightly wavy, unobtrusive scratch, inscription a bit light, brief edge wear, light soiling mostly evident at the border & verso, otherwise Very Good.

The image depicts Lyle 'Carlyle' Laughlin (1906-1996), who was the inventor of the Three-To-One Ropes trick and a simplified version of the 20th Century Silks trick. The photo is inscribed to the Harold & Gloria Sterling who performed on the Chautauqua circuit & opened a magic store in 1939.
