Food industry company history: In 1899, E A (Elbridge Amos) Stuart, with vision and enthusiasm, began manufacturing evaporated milk, called "The Milk from Contented Cows". The first manufacturing facility was in Kent WA, south of Seattle. Inventor John Meyenberg developed the "Apparatus for Preserving Milk."
