Good. acknowledgements, foreword by author, appendix, chapter notes, manuscript sources, abbreviations and bibliography. At the beginning of the text are three maps,1 double page -- showing the province of Dauphine and a single page map showing sites of League Action -- 1579-1580. Colour illustrated paperback binding with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A history of the city of Romans in France and more particularly of a critical period in time during the years 1579-1580. It was during this time that the seeds of the French revolution were sewn that culminated in the fall of the monarchy some two centuries later. The book is showing age and use. Rubbing of the book edges and panels with a reading creases to the back strip. Foxing to the book panels and to the text block edges where there is quite noticeable browning. Fading to the back strip with lighter browning of the pages. Foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. XVI, 416 pages,. Although it's on a somewhat different subject, having taken place in the eye of the storm as far as the Wars of Religion go, it gives one a good idea of what those wars must have been like for the common people.
