Octavo. 6.25 x 9.75 in. 134 pp. Very good in a rebound leather binding and red cloth boards that have ordinary shelf wear along the corners and edges. The binding is firm and the pages are clean and free of foxing. The interior front board has the scar of a removed book plate. This essay was the twelth in a then-monthly series of published essays and lectures through the historical and political science departments of Johns Hopkins University.
