2 volumes, 430 x 368 mm. Comprising Inro or Medicine Boxes, 1973, and Makie Bunga, 1975. Each with numerous collotype plates, listed with English translations, Japanese introductory text. Golden silk, burgundy folios in original publishers gilt and silver flecked cardboard slipcases.
Unnumbered leaves of plates, each with a tipped-in color plate All plates with a protective sheet of Japanese paper with descriptive letterpress. Orig. hardcovers.
The RARE and fine catalogue of "one of only a few collections in Japan that were put together by a European," Ugo Alfonso Casal, an Italian-born scholar who resided in Japan, now in the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts.
