London: John Gifford Limited, 1949. First edition. Hardcover, lacking the rare jacket. A VG- copy in original navy blue boards, lettered in white on spine. Binding is firm and uncracked, two small smudges on the front board otherwise clean and unrubbed. No tears or frays to edges or corners. Endpapers are white and uninscribed, with only a little foxing, text pages are fairly age-browned. A very scarce first edition..
