London: G. Strahan, 1713. 1st Edition . Very Good. 4.75 x 7.75 inches (12 x 19.5 cm). Contemporary panelled calf leather binding with five raised bands to spine. Red speckled page edges. Slight cracking to Joints but both boards are firmly attached. Wear to corners of boards and ends of spine. Good solid binding with no loose pages. Clean text with just a little light foxing. Bottom margin has a small area of worming up to page 4, then a single hole up to page 212. The final 64 pages contain supplementary material, with separate register: 'Ex Bullario Laertii Cherubini, Romae 1638' and 'The Proceedings of the Parliament of Paris, upon the Pope's Bull' with its own title page, bearing the imprint 'Printed for R. Bentley... 1688'. A controversial anti Roman Catholic work, structured as a conversation between a Catholic Nobleman and a Church of England Gentleman.
