London, Cassell, Petter & Galpin, c.1870. 1870 [4], xcvi, 1178 p. 10 colour plates and many images iin the text.Contemporary half calf binding with cloth boards.The spine with gold and blind lines and titled in gilt. Rubbed on the edges and corners and the front joint is starting to split. The boards are firmly attached and the cloth shows shelf wear. The text is tight and the main dictionary is printed in two columns.
